In Russia there is an unusually interesting place located in the Kaliningrad region on the Curonian Spit under the name “Dancing Forest”.
Amazing pine trees grow in this forest on the territory of no more than one square kilometer, the trunks of which are curved, bent, and some are twisted or curled into a ring. All this gives the impression that they are dancing – hence the name “Dancing Forest”. There is a clear boundary between the Dancing Forest and Normal. Scientists still have not figured out the exact reason why pines have such a bizarre trunk shape in this area.
But there are several versions, such as: the defeat of young shoots of pine caterpillars of butterfly butterflies; due to exposure to strong winds or geomagnetic fields. There are many beliefs and legends associated with this place, so the “Dancing Forest” is one of the most visited by tourists.
